Free shipping is NOT included with any shipments, as shipping and fuel charges are extremely volatile. Our shipping charges are determined based on each customer’s individual address, rather than charging the people close to us more to make up for the people farther away.

We cannot provide a shipping estimate to your area. To determine your shipping cost, put the items you’re interested in ordering into the cart and go through the checkout process until you see the shipping amount and choices. You can then choose to complete your order or not.

If your package(s) is arriving via FedEx–which all racks, add-ons, and ramps do–we will send you an automated email with tracking information when your order ships.

IMPORTANT: It is your responsibility to be at the place of delivery to sign for the package(s). If you cannot, we suggest you log into FedEx Delivery Manager and either change the delivery address or choose to “HOLD AT FEDEX OFFICE” so you can pick it up at your convenience and to ensure the package(s) are not stolen. Keep in mind, if you hold at FedEx, you must pick it up within 7 business days or it will be sent back to QuikrStuff. At that point, you will be responsible for any additional shipping charges.

NOTE: FedEx has partnered with many retail stores and you could arrange to pick up your packages at one of them as well.

Another option is to waive the required signature. You must state in an email to Support@QuikrStuff.com that you wish to waive the signature requirement and that you understand and agree that the package(s) will no longer be insured and that QuikrStuff will not be responsible for any package that does not arrive and/or is stolen from your property.

Also, waiving the signature requirement must be done PRIOR to the package(s) leaving our facility. We cannot do this after the fact.

Note: If you only ordered small accessories or repair parts, these will come via USPS and do not have a signature requirement and you do not need to be present when they’re delivered.

We cannot offer guarantees of fitment of the rack on your vehicle because there are variables of changes in model spec, OEM (original equipment manufacturer), and aftermarket hitches and adapters, as well as way too many cars to keep up a database. The load capacities provided here are conservative numbers made to protect your investment in your bikes. Please check the tongue weight capacity for your vehicle/hitch as OEM (original equipment manufacturer) will not be the same as an aftermarket hitch. Read this FAQ for more information about tongue weight.

These numbers do not apply when hitch adapters, extenders, swing away arms, or bike covers are used. All of these items put more leverage (stress) on the hitch/crossbar and therefore lower the weight capacities of the rack. Also, use of any of these items will void the warranty.

1.25″ Mach2

Note: Pending design revision in process, expected to be completed by December 2024. The following information is inaccurate for now.

1 bike –   120 lbs
2 bikes – 140 lbs total for both bikes
3 bikes – 160 lbs total for all three bikes

2″ Mach2

1 bike   – 120 lbs
2 bikes – 240 lbs total for both bikes
3 bikes – 300 lbs total for all three bikes
4 bikes – 185 lbs total for all four bikes

Even though the 1.25″ rack can hold 160 pounds total and the 2″ rack can carry 300 pounds total, each individual bike rack tray has a weight limit of 120 pounds that cannot be exceeded. Doing so could cause the rack to fail.

The maximum weight for each tray is reduced as the trays get further from the vehicle. That is why trays one and two can hold 120 pounds, but trays three and four cannot. Think about a diving board. As you get further out on the diving board you bend the board more by increasing the force on the end of the board. You also increase the force on the diving board’s attachments to the ground even though you weigh the same. As you add more bikes to the rack with add-ons, you increase the force on the rack frame, especially the attachment point to the car.

Therefore, we highly recommend that you adhere to the weight capacity guidelines listed here, not only for the safety of your bikes but also for the safety of others who are on the road near you. Carrying more weight than is suggested will void the warranty on the product.

The base Mach2 hitch rack mount weighs approximately 30.7 pounds and each Add-on weighs 22.7 pounds. The ramp weighs 10 pounds.

The rack can accommodate skinny road bike tires all the way through tires as wide as 5” with no adapters needed. The distance is 4.77″ between the arms, but dare we say, tires are not really accurate in their dimensions?

The Mach2 fits the Vee Snow Shoe 2XL, which is 5.05″ wide. (stated by the manufacturer)

We have also seen customers place additional pipe insulation or a cut section of a pool noodle between the tire and the fender. This will help maintain the shape of the fender and prevent it from rubbing against the tire.

It is possible (and easy, remember it’s toolless) to lower the tire spool along the arm. Doing so changes the contact point on the tire and often results in it sitting lower than or tucked under the fender. Lowering the tire spool will change the angle of the arm, so be sure to check that it is still around the optimal 45 degrees.

Additionally, we recommend using the Wheel Strap accessory as another contact point. These are helpful for bikes with fenders that hang below the optimal 45 degrees. Note: In the photo below that a customer sent in, the tire spool could be moved up a couple of inches to sit right below the fender.

Yes, you can remove the captive safety pin with one screw and use a standard hitch pin bolt with cotter pin or lock.

However, this is not possible with the 1.25″ hitch or the 1.25″ with the 2″ adapter installed. The reason is because there is no hole going through the adapter. In other words, you can only do this with the 2″ hitch model.

Also, the hole in the hitch insert will not align with the hole in the receiver on all vehicles. Please see the dimensions FAQ to measure the location of the hole and compare it to that of the hole in your receiver.

Customers sometimes purchase a 1.25″ rack when they have a 2″ receiver on their vehicle. The reason for doing this is so they can use the rack with other cars, some of which may have a 1.25″ receiver. We manufacture a spacer to add to the 1.25″ male piece that pops on and off. This adapter is included with every Mach2 1.25″ purchase. See photos and keep reading.

There are other adapters on the market and they can be purchased separately. The CEO himself has a third-party hitch adapter/extender on his Subaru, converting his 1.25″ receiver to a 2″ hitch. Because of the extra play it created, he had the adapter welded into his 1.25″ receiver, alleviating the extra movement but also making his receiver permanently a 2″ receiver. If you use the QuikrStuff adapter that comes with your 1.25″ rack, you will not experience any extra play.

NOTE: We do not warranty any rack setup that uses an adapter other than the one QuikrStuff manufactures and includes with your 1.25″ rack purchase.

You may use a hitch extender with your rack. We do not currently manufacture or sell a hitch extender. You can find these at etrailer.com or from other companies.

Often times using an extension can introduce more play and noise into the whole system. You can try an anti-rattle stabilizer (shown in photo below) to alleviate these issues. No, we do not sell these either. Another option is welding the extender into your receiver, but this does make it a permanent feature.

Be sure to consider the number and weight of the bikes you are hauling and realize that the limits will be reduced when an extension is used. Refer to the class rating and tongue weight of your vehicle’s hitch receiver. Typically, your tongue weight will be reduced by 50% when using an extension.

The Quik Rack Mach2 does not fit into a 2.5′ or 3″ receiver. We are in the process of designing and testing adapters and will eventually sell them on our website.

In the meantime, you may choose use a third-party product, but know that doing so will void the warranty on the rack. The reason is because our rack has not been tested with any products from other companies.

The Mach2 hitch design uses two aluminum pads instead of one steel ball, which was what was used with the inventor’s previous bike rack. This is a huge improvement! The pads are stronger, smoother, and more stable, and the old steel ball version could deform the hitch over time.

Our rack also comes with a Captive Safety Pin for additional peace of mind. The Captive Safety Pin does not go through a hole in your receiver; rather, it sits just behind the flange on your receiver. A regular locking pin can be used, if so desired. And the Captive Safety Pin can be removed with one screw for vehicles that don’t have clearance for it.

Everyone has a different model and spare tire size, but typically, no, our rack does not work on the back of a jeep with a spare tire.

Some customers use an extender with the 2″ version of the rack to push everything further away from the jeep.

We do not make an extender and our warranty does not cover usage of the rack with third-party extenders, adapters, or swing away arms.

The QuikrStuff Mach2 bike rack was not designed to carry recumbents or trikes.

It might be possible to use one rack and two add-ons and put the rear tires in trays one and three and the front tire in tray two. But you will need to look at the rack dimensions and then measure your specific bike to see if it would fit on the rack in this way.

We recently met a doctor in our town who had an Elliptigo 11R bike and it fits fine on our rack with no modification.

If you wanted to carry two Elliptigo bikes, you would need to have one Add-on in between them because of the width of the base being larger than our width.

We may look into creating a customization to carry two Elliptigo bikes next to each other, but that will be some time off as we crank out higher demand items. 🙂

YES, the QuikrStuff Mach2 bike rack can be used on the popular Tesla Model Y.

Here’s what we know about the rack on a Tesla Y:

The rack fits very close to the car. If you insert the rack into the receiver just far enough to cover both expanding pads, you will still be able to get the rack into its upright position. Some Tesla owners report that this isn’t possible but that is because they are pushing the rack all the way into the receiver. You only need to push it in far enough to cover the two expanding pads. As long as both pads are covered, the rack will stay secured.

There are also rumors that a loaded bike may bump into the back of the car. This will not happen if you install the rack as suggested in the above paragraph.

You’ll need to change the Captive Safety Pin from the left side to the right side of the car. This is because there is an electrical connection in the way on the left side. Moving the Captive Safety Pin is easily done with no tools although it’s tight in there and if your hand doesn’t fit you may need to use needle nose pliers. The Captive Safety Pin does not need to go through the hole in the receiver; it does, however, need to sit behind the flange on the receiver. Remember, the Captive Safety Pin is not the primary mechanism holding the rack to your vehicle; it is the unique expanding pads in the hitch that do that job.

We haven’t noticed the rack interfering with the performance of the mirrors. We aren’t big fans of the tilting mirrors (when they tilt way down when you first put it into reverse) and know you can turn that feature off. The car will tell you to STOP when backing up because it thinks the rack is a separate object that you’re about to hit. You can turn on trailer mode so it realizes that something is attached.

Before purchasing or using a bike rack, it is important to consider the tongue weight rating of your particular vehicle hitch. Tongue weight rating can be found in the vehicle owner’s manual or printed on the hitch. Tongue weight is the static downward force that the hitch receiver can safely handle while hauling. Exceeding the listed tongue weight rating can result in a slow degradation of the rack or a sudden catastrophic failure where the entire rack and loaded bike(s) fall off onto the road.

When thinking about the weight of your load, of course you’ll consider the weight of the bike(s) you want to haul; but, don’t forget to also add in the weight of the QuikrStuff products you are attaching to your vehicle (rack, add-on, ramp).

Example

Your vehicle has a listed tongue weight of 200 pounds. You want to carry two bikes that weigh 60 pounds each. The 2″ bike rack and add-on together weigh 53.4 pounds. This is a total weight of 173.4 pounds, so it would be safe to haul your bikes with our system.

Using an extension, adapter, or swing away arm interferes with the standard formula above, making it nearly impossible to determine the allowable weight capacity. That is why we state in our warranty policy that the use of these and other third-party products will void the warranty on our products.

There are many different vehicle/receiver combinations. Because of this, we cannot keep track of fitment on every type of vehicle and therefore do not provide fitment answers for you. Instead, we provide information you can use to measure and determine for yourself if the Quik Rack Mach2 will work with your vehicle.

A common question when thinking about the depth of a receiver and the style of our hitch insert with its expanding pads is how far into the receiver the hitch absolutely has to go. Ideally, the rack should be inserted into a receiver as far as it can go; however, there are recessed receivers, short receivers, and/or bumpers that can complicate the matter. This diagram shows how far the hitch insert has to go into the receiver in order for the silver pads to be covered.

At minimum insertion, there will be 1 5/16″ outside of the receiver to the point of the main rack. See diagram.

An issue that arises is whether, with minimum insertion, the rack will clear the bumper of a vehicle. You must determine that for yourself based on this information as well as other measurements in the dimensions FAQ.

If the hitch insert is too short for your vehicle, you might think, “Oh, I’ll just use an extender.” We do not currently make or sell an extender and we cannot warranty the rack when a third party product is used. Also, you need to be wary of pushing the rack and all the weight it will bear too far away from the vehicle. Doing so will reduce the amount of weight the rack can safely carry. And, as mentioned, we cannot cover under warranty any damage incurred when an extender is used.

Be aware of the tongue weight of your vehicle.

One of the greatest features of the Quik Rack Mach2 is the one-key anti-theft system. You rack, Add-On(s), and Wheel Locks (should you choose to order them) will all have blue push-button barrel locks. These will lock the rack to your vehicle, lock any Add-Ons to the rack or to the Add-On in front of it, and lock the Wheel Locks through your wheels to the arms of the rack.

In the photo above, you can see the red safety latch that connects the Add-ons together and the blue push-button barrel lock that protects it from being removed.

The same type of lock and key are used to lock the rack into the hitch. We will make sure that all of your locks are keyed the same, i.e., use the same key, even if you purchase additional products down the road from your original order. You will receive plenty of keys, but if you lose them or want more, additional keys can be purchased.

Our Wheel Lock accessory (shown below) works perfectly to lock your bike to the Mach2 rack. For additional security, we suggest you weave a cable between the locks and the bike(s). Such cables are generally available at your local bike shop.

We recommend one lock per wheel, i.e. two locks per bike for quick security.
If you choose to ALWAYS use a cable, you could get by with one wheel lock.

We are currently only selling Wheel Locks to customers who have purchased a bike rack from us. If you need to add Wheel Locks to your already placed order, please order them using the same email address you did when purchasing your rack and we will combine your orders and ship them out together in the order of the production queue.

For convenience, Wheel Locks are keyed the same as your rack, add-ons, and ramp.
We will look you up in our database (as long as you use the same email as your original order/account) and match the key(s) to your Mach2 and other accessories. You can also email us at support@quikrstuff.com to ensure that we get your components keyed the same.

One of the innovative features of the Quik Rack Mach2 is the captive safety pin at the hitch (shown with the red know in the photo below).

The captive safety pin serves as a fail safe if the rack were to become loosened and start slipping out of the receiver. The rack will only become loose if it isn’t tightened properly with the blue lever and periodically checked.

The captive safety pin was designed because, for whatever reason, there is no standard when it comes to hitch receivers and their hitch pin holes. We cannot rely on you being able to use a standard hitch pin so the captive safety pin solves this issue for most vehicles.

The captive safety pin can be removed entirely (though we don’t recommend it) and it can easily be switched to the opposite side. This is necessary with some vehicles due to space restraints and electrical connections in the area of the receiver.

We currently ONLY offer international shipments to Canada. We hope to expand into other destinations as we catch up on backorders. It is worth noting that you will pay a shipping fee with us, and any duties or taxes associated with the shipment charged by the CBSA are your responsibility to pay.

Free shipping is NOT included in any shipments, as shipping and fuel charges are extremely volatile.

Delrin is an engineering thermoplastic used in precision parts requiring high stiffness, low friction, and excellent dimensional stability.

The fasteners are torqued at the factory and because of the chemical properties of steel mated to aluminum, need no thread-lock solution.

Any mechanical connection can vibrate and loosen, so it is a good idea to occasionally check the fasteners and other parts to make sure they are secure and tight. This is normal wear and tear.

• The Quik Rack Mach2 locks tightly at the hitch, and each add-on component, including the ramp, locks to the one before it. So unless someone has your key–or a saw to cut through the hitch–your QuikrStuff is staying right where it is. It’s unlikely that someone will saw a rack off because without a hitch the rack is nearly impossible to use or resell. And it’s doubtful a thief would call us to get parts.
• Many customers check directly with us before buying a rack from a previous owner. They’ll confirm the serial number with us and, if everything checks out, we update our records to reflect the new owner.
• Park strategically–up against a wall, fence, pole, or tree–to make it hard for anyone to access the rack. Also park in well-lit, visible areas to deter attempted theft.
• You can remove and store the rack in your vehicle while you’re out riding. It might seem like a hassle, but the Quik Rack Mach2 is lightweight, folds, and installs quickly without tools.
• You might want to add a GPS tracker to the rack.
• With some vehicles, it is possible to use a standard locking hitch pin with the Quik Rack Mach2. You could also add a cable lock.
• Each component–such as the add-on and the ramp–locks to the one before it, so no part of the rack can be easily stolen.
• Be sure your rack is covered by your vehicle or homeowner’s insurance.

Keep your rack clean and in good working order by simply using water and soap, nothing more. All metals corrode no matter what treatment they have, so the more you keep them clean, the better they will operate and last.

It works just fine to spray the rack off at the car wash.

Road salts are very corrosive, so you must be proactive with your rack to keep it in good condition.

NOTE: Do NOT use any lubricant as it will collect dirt and prevent the necessary friction to keep the rack arm(s) locked in place

Some squeaking is normal, so no need to think that there is an issue with the rack. Do NOT use any lubricant as it will collect dirt and prevent the necessary friction to keep the rack arm locked in place. When operating the rack arm, squeaking can be minimized by lifting the red lever parallel with the silver bar as shown below. Also, be sure to periodically wash your rack with soap and water (you can spray it at the car wash) to keep it functioning correctly.

The red easy-access pivot trigger is on the end of the rack and each Add-On, so it is always easy to find and use. This feature allows you to pivot the rack into four different positions – vertical storage position, 45-degree, the horizontal standard carry position, and hatch access.

It may seem that the pivot trigger is too tight and too hard to move. It is intentionally made this way. It helps to jiggle the rack back and forth and up and down to get it to release.

After moving the rack between positions, ensure the red pivot trigger is flush with the two cross bars and not sticking up higher than them (this is true for the vertical position and for standard carry position). Again, you can jiggle the rack around to help get the red pivot trigger to drop into its home position. It’s a good idea to get in the habit of running your hand or thumb over the pivot trigger after you tilt your rack to check that it is flush with the two cross bars.

Ensuring that the red pivot trigger is in its home position will in turn ensure that the release bar (circled in yellow below) is reseated and safe to travel with. The release bar should not be left as it is seen in the illustration below.

Loosen and retighten the tire spools so that they are aligned/evenly positioned on each arm.

Uneven spacing can make the arms appear to “bend” and look crooked.

Also, you might have to turn the carriage bolt a 1/4 turn either way to make sure the gold lever is tight and against the bar as shown in the picture.

We approve usage of the Mach2 bike rack on RVs, 5th Wheels, Class C RVs, and travel trailers. However, there is a two-bike maximum and you can only do this with the 2″ hitch version of the rack (not the 1.25″).

It needs to be inserted into a chassis-mounted hitch receiver (not a bumper mount).

Also, do not use extenders, adapters, swing away arms, or bike covers. Doing so can result in the slow degradation of the rack or a sudden catastrophic failure. Using any of these will void the warranty.

The Mach2 is approved for general off-road use.

Know that going fast over big bumps is like quadrupling the amount of weight you have on the rack (i.e., slow down and don’t intentionally bounce the rack).

This being said, proper caution is always required. We call this common sense coverage. Drive slowly and carefully in all off-road situations. If you are driving too fast and hit a big bump that causes damage to your rack or vehicle, that is not covered under warranty. If you are using the rack on demanding 4×4 terrain and drop off a ledge and bash the rack, this is not covered by warranty.

The Quik Rack Mach2 does not fit into a 2.5′ or 3″ receiver. We are in the process of designing and testing adapters and will eventually sell them on our website.

In the meantime, you may choose use a third-party product, but know that doing so will void the warranty on the rack. The reason is because our rack has not been tested with any products from other companies.
