Yes, you can use the Mach2 2″ bike rack with a 2.5″ receiver!
We manufacture and sell a 2.5″-2″ reducer that works with the 2″ QuikrStuff Mach2 bike rack. See product info here. Using this reducer is the best way to maintain the famous QuikrStuff no-wobble-at-the-hitch.
You can use two of these reducers for a 3″ hitch receiver.
Please know that the use of any third-party reducers may introduce play at the hitch. It will also void our warranty.
How to use the 2.5″-2″ Reducer:
First remove the fastener screw and then insert the reducer in the hitch receiver on the bottom passenger’s side. Install the fastener screw through the hitch pin hole and tighten securely. Then, install the bike rack by sliding it into the remaining space in the hitch receiver.
You will NOT be able to use a through-hitch pin with this reducer. A hitch pin isn’t necessary with this rack, but some customers like to use one anyway so we’re mentioning here that you won’t be able to.

How to use TWO 2.5″-2″ Reducers in a 3″ Hitch Receiver:
Position one reducer on the bottom passenger’s side of the hitch bar of the rack and the other on the top driver’s side.
In this configuration, the fastener screws will not work so we recommend the use of a through-hitch pin for reducer retention.
