Grand Junction local, Noni B., says she feels fortunate to have found a solution to her bike rack woes. And with the Quik Rack Mach2, her passion for riding and giving back has one more way to shine.
Q: How did you first hear of QuikrStuff and how long have you had your Mach2?
We purchased our QuikrStuff rack in 2022 after a truly frightening experience. Our previous bike rack failed while we were driving 75 mph on Interstate-70, causing us to lose the rack and two very high-end road bikes—a Specialized and a Cannondale. The bikes were badly damaged, and the situation could have ended catastrophically for us or for other motorists. After that, we knew we needed a much safer, more reliable solution.
Q: Why did you choose the QuikrStuff Quik Rack Mach2?
Peace of mind was our top priority. We wanted a rack that could be easily secured and locked to the frame of our car, was simple to use, and was light enough that I could install it myself without help from my husband.
While I love my QuikrStuff rack for many reasons, the biggest benefit for me is the detachable ramp. After four back surgeries, I sometimes need to ride an e-bike instead of an acoustic bike. My e-bike weighs about 70 pounds, and to participate in my favorite rides—like the Colorado National Monument or mountain rides—I need to transport it many miles to the start.
With most racks, lifting a bike that heavy would be impossible without assistance. With QuikrStuff, I simply attach the ramp, roll my e-bike onto the platform, remove the ramp, and secure it back onto the rack. I can then use it again at the other end to unload the bike. It’s light, it’s easy, and it’s given me the freedom to keep riding independently. I feel very fortunate to have found this solution.
Q: When you’re not riding your bike, what else do you like to do?
What else is there! Ha! Just kidding. I love to cycle and mountain bike, but when I’m off my bike, I’m golfing, hiking, skiing, or traveling. I think of myself as a pretty typical Colorado Gal.
Commitment to Service
Beyond her own adventures, Noni is a dedicated supporter of Colorado Moms Who Tri, helping transport bikes to races and lending a hand wherever it’s needed. She’s their official transition-area “stripper,” photographer, and all-around supporter and friend. Thanks to the Mach2 and its ramp system, she can easily load and unload multiple bikes—making race day smoother for everyone.
Noni’s commitment to service extends well beyond sport. A former CPA and commercial bank underwriter in Denver and Grand Junction, she has served on her neighborhood’s HOA Design Review Committee and on the HopeWest Hospice Executive Board, where she helped guide high-level financial and executive decisions. Through her hospice work, she also sat vigil with patients in their final days and hours. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Death Ride for ALS and the Red Rock Century, and was President of the Women’s Golf League at Redlands Mesa Golf Course.
Phew! No wonder we’re proud to welcome Noni B. to the QuikrStuff Rack & Roll Hall of Fame.
