Sometimes the right gear finds you—like spotting a QuikrStuff Mach2 rack at a trailhead parking lot and realizing it’s exactly what you need. In this post, Janis from Nevada shares how the Mach2 became essential to his biking adventures and what it was like to visit QuikrStuff in Grand Junction.
Just Know: Discovering the Mach2 Difference
Q: How did you first hear of QuikrStuff and how long have you had your Mach2?
I first heard about QuikrStuff maybe five years ago in the parking lot at one of my local trails. A guy parked next to me had one of the original Mach2’s and was praising its awesomeness to anyone who would listen. I was really impressed with the Mach2’s craftsmanship, ease of use, and burliness. Fast forward a few years, when it came time to buy a new hitch rack, I didn’t hesitate to purchase a Quik Rack Mach2. Anyone who owns a Mach2 just knows and those who don’t just need to find out. The Mach2 kicks ass. Period. Sure, you pay a little extra but it’s beyond worth it. Over 90% of the Mach2 is machined and built in-house in Grand Junction, Colorado. Just another small business in America making amazing Made in USA products and supporting local jobs and the economy. How cool is that!
Q: What bike(s) are you carrying and where are you headed?
Like most mountain bikers, I own more bikes than necessary. Presently, my go-to bikes are a We Are One Arrival, Revel Rail 27.5, and a Transition Repeater. The Mach2 supports each or all of them at the same time with ease.
From the Factory Floor to the Trail: Hanging Out with QuikrStuff in Grand Junction
Q: You recently passed through Grand Junction and visited the QuikrStuff Headquarters. Tell us a bit about this trip and your experience in Grand Junction.
Ya, that’s right, I was on an MTB trip through the desert Southwest with a few days in Grand Junction. Prior to leaving, I pinged Eric at QuikrStuff for some local beta and he extended an invitation for a factory tour. I was honored. So, on a rest day I stopped by the QuikrStuff HQ and met with Bryan (one of the owners), Eric, and the rest of the team. Eric gave me a tour of the manufacturing process for the Mach2, which was awesome. The next day, Eric and I rode a lap on Gunny at Lunch Loops. He went back to work and I did a lap on the Ribbon Trail. The mountain biking in Grand Junction and Fruita is so rad. Post-ride I feasted on some amazing food and beverages at Trail Life Brewing. Super fun trip overall, but the highlight was hanging out with the folks from QuikrStuff.
