Just a quick update for July 19, 2021 for the Quik Rack Mach2.

Opening Pre-Sales Again
We’re happy to announce that we’re again opening pre-sales for the Quik Rack Mach2 and its Add-Ons! We’re calling them pre-sales instead of sales, because products will ship once they become available, rather than immediately. Your deposit or full-price order now, will help us build and ship racks more rapidly.
Delays in Getting Aluminum
Why can’t we ship immediately? While we’re definitely finding our rhythm with production and assembly, we’re facing delays in getting the aluminum we need. As you’re probably aware, supply chain issues are not unique to QuikrStuff. Normally, it would take eight weeks to get aluminum, but with COVID, that jumped to 24 weeks. We recently learned that now it’s 36 weeks. But don’t despair; we still have a lot of aluminum in stock and ready to use. And with JT’s years of experience in oil, gas, and aerospace manufacturing, he’s well-prepared to match sales predictions with the cycle times of aluminum extrusions. So recycle your aluminum cans and such so we can avoid these types of disruptions to communities in the future.
Production and Shipping
Our new CNC machines and two recent hires have allowed us to produce and ship racks for more than two months, with the first batch going to pre-sale purchasers. We need to be careful, though. We don’t want to ramp up production too quickly and get our new employees settled into their positions, only to have them sit idle while we wait for aluminum. Pacing is everything at this point and is a great balancing act between getting the raw materials we need (aluminum), so you can get the product you want. This is where the benefit of pre-sales comes into play. With your full-price orders or deposits, we’ll procure the funds we need to order more aluminum later, making it possible for us to produce and ship more quickly. Currently, many companies employ this strategy until their production and shipping stabilizes.
Get Ready to Order
As promised, we’ll send you an email letting you know when pre-sales open. It should arrive in your inbox in the next few days. You have a few days to consider whether you’d like to order, lock in your pricing, and get ready. We say “get ready” because orders will be fulfilled on a first-to-order basis. Full price sales will go out in the order in which they were placed, followed by deposit-only orders, also in the order in which they were placed.
Please know that the timeline for receiving your rack is based on factors that are (practically) out of our control (i.e., getting aluminum). But, the sooner you order, the sooner you get a rack, no matter what. A lot of people who participated in our first pre-sales campaign now own a new Quik Rack Mach2. They knew that it would be months before their rack arrived, but the process worked for them and for us. And it will work for you, too!
